Scholarships available through AATC

Members of the Apartment Association of Tarrant County are eligible to apply for educational financial assistance from the AATC Education Foundation ~ Jonetta Vice scholarship fund which provides professionals in the property management industry with financial assistance toward professional growth and continuing education.

Scholarships are available for all NAAEI in-person designations offered at the Apartment Association of Tarrant County and any other education programs deemed by the Foundation.

The AATC Education Foundation will agree to pay partial (50%) to full (100%) amount of the total cost of the following programs contingent upon the successful completion of all criteria and online submission forms.

Please review the qualifications for each credential/program below:

NAAEI Certified Programs

CAMT: Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician
February and March 2021

  • 12 months in the industry. Individuals without this experience may earn a Provisional Certificate.
  • Complete and passall modules and exams within the allotted time.
  • Course Fee: $850
  • Applications due December 31st 2020.

CAM: Certified Apartment Manager
May of 2021

  • 12 months in the industry as a property manager.
  • Complete and Pass all modules within the allotted time.
  • Course Fee: $1150
  • Applications due March 31 2021

CAS: Certified Apartment Supplier
May of 2021

  • Complete and Pass the 4 modules CAM Modules in addition to passing the Supplier Success course. The scholarship only covers the CAS Program and does not cover the fees for Supplier Success.
  • Course Fee: $615
  • Applications due March 31 2021

NALP: National Apartment Leasing Professional
April of 2021

  • 6 months of industry experience in a leasing capacity.
  • Complete and pass all modules and exams within the allotted time.
  • Course Fee: $475
  • Applications due by February 28 2021

CAPS: Certified Apartment Property Supervisor
September/October 2021

  • 24 months as a Multi-site Supervisor OR CAM +24 months as an Apartment Manager.
  • Complete and pass all modules and exams within the allotted time.
  • Course Fee: $1400
  • Applications due by July 31 2021

EPA 608 Course
April and October 2021

  • Environment Protection Agency's Section 608 Certification and exam.
  • Course Fee: $140
  • Applications due March 15 2021, and August 31 2021

 All Courses Above are delivered from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or can be taken virtually. 

Applicant(s) must be serious about pursuing a career in the residential property management industry and provided that the following guidelines are met:

  1. Successfully submit the on-line scholarship application with a letter of recommendation from their company or supervisor.

  2. This scholarship is for the financial assistance of NAAEI Certified Programs and any other education programs deemed by the Foundation.

  3. The individual whose company is not able to help pay tuition or has no tuition reimbursement program.
  4. Applicants must be employed by an AATC member in good standing.

  5. The applicant must be available to attend all designated dates (stated above) for the program chosen. The scholarship award is not transferable to the following year. All programs are in-person training only.

  6. Applicants will meet with the Education Director of the Apartment Association for either in-person interviews or telephone interviews after all required paperwork is submitted.

  7. The individual must successfully pass all of the course requirements and pass the exam within 6 months of taking the course. If the applicant fails to fulfill this agreement, the applicant will be responsible for the repayment of scholarship funds.

  8. Once the education foundation fund is depleted, no more funds will be disbursed for the year.

  9. Scholarships do not apply for online courses.

All items must be adhered to in order to be eligible to receive the scholarship: (this form does not constitute or imply an offer to provide you with the scholarship)

All applicants must hold a valid High School Diploma or equivalent and have one year of experience in the multi-housing industry. Careful consideration is given prior to awarding a Scholarship with special emphasis placed on an individual's commitment to the industry, their economic needs, and overall character.

The scholarship includes the following:

  • Tuition
  • Cost of Textbook(s)

*no monetary funds are given directly to the person(s) awarded the scholarship.

If the applicant is awarded a scholarship, all modules and testing must be completed within 6 months of taking the program if a certified program. If taking additional courses and an exam is required, the applicant must pass the exam to be eligible for the scholarship.

  1. The scholarship is only awarded to those individuals who would be paying with personal funds and/or whose company will not pay for education programs and will not reimburse employees for education programs.

  2. There will be a maximum of 2 recipients awarded per calendar year from any given company (and their affiliates) and no more than 1 recipient per location.

  3. Recipients are responsible for attending all of the courses within the given program and must be on time for each class.

  4. The education program must be completed in the time frame specified. Failure to complete the program will result in the candidate being required to reimburse the scholarship fund for the awarded scholarship amount.

  5. Scholarship awards include the cost of the educational program only. Recipients will not be reimbursed for any lost wages as a result of class attendance.

  6. Recipients must maintain the highest standards of professionalism including conduct, appearance, etc while involved in any AATC event or classes.

  7. Partial or retroactive scholarships are not available to current designation students.

  8. Applicants may not have received an education scholarship for any designation within the last two years.
