GET TO KNOW YOUR ASSOCIATION STAFF: PART 1

Ed Blinn:  Director of Communications – 17 years with AATC!

Ed’s primary role within our association is to handle all mass communications to all our members. He handles all the social media accounts and promotions, controls the website and its marketing, handles all the email services, any media and software logistics, all of the photography and videography we put out, as well as the graphic design for printing and e-commerce sights, production and filming for our promotional events and advertising, and all of the AATC branding. He also puts together our annual trade show event and does all the technical magic for the Lone Star Awards each year. In a nutshell, Ed is our Wizard of Oz!

As a father of two girls and two goats, Ed keeps his schedule full outside work. He plays in a billiards league, is involved with FFA, has written several children’s books, and likes to BBQ or smoke meats while listening to classic rock in his “spare time.” He has been married to Dalayna, a registered nurse and boss of the Blinn family, for 24 years, and they also have a very sleepy mini-dachshund named Zeke. Ed’s small family blossomed in adulthood when an ancestry kit helped him find five siblings he never knew he had! Ed and Dalayna are both the first to obtain college degrees in their respective families – Ed holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UT at Arlington and a Master of Arts degree from Savannah College of Art and Design. With inspiration from her parents, their youngest daughter, currently a senior in high school, is going to college next year for a marine biology degree. The eldest daughter is a licensed cosmetologist, focusing on coloring techniques, and is honing in her craft in the alliance area of north Fort Worth.

Before working at AATC, he was a graphic design instructor and program director for a local technical college, where he taught various courses related to graphic design, counseled students, and acquired new instructors while running the entire department. His favorite part of his job at the association is that he “gets paid to play with Photoshop and use cool camera equipment.” He can create top-line graphics and commercials, produce and edit videos autonomously, and show you the proper lighting for the perfect selfie. Ed’s OCD tendencies have aided him in being great at his craft, and he is always a pleasure to work with. He is available for hire if you need some headshots, want some company marketing videos, or would like some help with graphic design. What a great guy to have access to on a daily basis!
