President's Letter: 2024—A New Era for FWAA

Posted By: Bryan Downer Dimensions Online,

Happy New Year, and Welcome to 2024! Have you set your resolutions? Have you met with your teams and built out your plans? Will 2024 be your best year ever?

While I am not sure we can help with your personal goals, I know we can help you achieve your business goals. We are ready with more opportunities to be engaged and grow your career. We have added another Supplier Partner seat to our Lyceum class. This new addition will ensure we provide more of our valued Supplier Partners a path to Association leadership.

This year will also see the launch of the Fort Worth Apartment Association Education Foundation. Watch for all the great opportunities that blossom from this first year under the guidance of Nicolle Block and Brenda Carpenter. The FWAAEF was born out of a Lyceum project. I am super excited about the new and fantastic scholarship opportunities; the impact will be truly incredible and life-changing.

By now, you have undoubtedly noticed that we have jumped headfirst into 2024 with a brand-new name. After fifty-six years as the Apartment Association of Tarrant County, your Board of Directors decided to move forward as the Fort Worth Apartment Association. This new name will give us much better recognition on the state and national levels as well as allowing us to benefit from the well-known Fort Worth name. Watch for all the excitement to come.

We can’t move forward without giving proper recognition to our past. I want to thank Cayce Coon for leading the path for us last year. She worked over and above to ensure your Association operated at the highest possible level. All this with the proper measure of fun thrown in. Speaking of fun and celebrating, I hope to see you all at the Lone Star Awards, where we get to honor the superstars of the Association. Here’s to a great year! Let’s make it the best.
