President's Letter - May 2024
May represents the metamorphosis from the old to the new—like winter into summer. The transformation is complete; it is time to get ready for the dog days of summer. In many ways, this is where FWAA is—the rounding out of the AATC to FWAA transformation. This month, our board will vote on our new branding message, starting with approving a new logo! By the end of the month, the development of our website will be in the final stages so that by mid-summer, our transformation will also be complete.
What an incredible organization FWAA is. They are continually fighting to protect your rights as business owners and landlords and are always on the hunt for new ways to give back to the community. One case in point is the success of our latest event, the Military Veterans Charity Golf Tournament, presented by Texas Southwest Floors.
On May 7th, FWAA members came together and helped us raise over $20,000 for the PTSD Foundation of America-DFW, and it was incredible to see. What a great organization! They assist veterans by helping them make life-changing decisions to guide them on their path to recovery from the traumas of war.
Let’s pause and think for a minute about how many lives FWAA members probably saved that day.
You should all be super proud, and we hope to keep doing this year after year.
Pushing through the summer, way down in August, you will notice an annual event FWAA hosts called the Business Exchange, presented by Perma Pier Foundation Repair of Texas. The reverse trade show is a concept that started right here in D/FW and has been copied throughout the entire nation to become a staple of apartment association programming everywhere.
