Business Exchange!

Posted By: Emily Watson Events,

The Business Exchange is the largest reverse trade show in the nation; it’s business-to-business speed-dating in a nutshell. More importantly, thanks to DFWs amazing multifamily industry leaders, the Business Exchange produces the largest, annual contribution to the National Apartment Association’s Political Action Committee (NAA PAC). Since 2019, the Business Exchange has raised more than $400,000 for NAA PAC!

From eviction moratoriums to rental assistance, the pandemic highlighted the importance of pro-active federal advocacy.  It is imperative that our industry’s voice is heard loud and clear in Washington.  Our industry is under constant attack from congress and the White House.  Owner/operator and supplier partner participation in the Business Exchange demonstrates our commitment to ensure that federal policymakers understand the impact of their decisions on our industry.

Texas Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn will be welcoming attendees to the 2021 Business Exchange presented by Lowes Pro Supply on August 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Irving Convention Center (500 West Las Colinas Boulevard, Irving, TX 75039).

Following Senator Cornyn’s remarks, NAA Past Chairman Jeff Lowry, COO, Madera Residential will host a panel discussion with industry executives Scott Wilder, Lincoln Property Company; Steve Lamberti, Highmark Residential; Lucy Simone, LMC; and Steve Hallsey; Wood Partners.  The panelists will be discussing organizational success, diversity, and inclusion, advancements in technology, budgeting, and more.

AATC and AAGD, collectively the largest concentration of multi-housing units in the nation, have joined hands to create the most efficient way imaginable for property owners and managers to exchange important information with our wonderful supplier-partners.

For owner/operators, the Business Exchange:

  1. Support your industry's federal advocacy initiatives;
  2. Help Stop Eviction Moratoriums, Tax Increases, Onerous Industry Regulations;
  3. Learn about the latest products and services; and
  4. Gather pricing data ahead of budget season

For our supplier partner, the Business Exchange:

  1. Access to more than 300 owner/operator executives;
  2. More than 60 OM companies; and
  3. Get one-on-one face time with owner/manager decision-makers

Big thank you to Leah Christian the Lowes Pro Supply team for being our presenting sponsor.   Special thanks to the Business Exchange Committee for all their hard work to make this event happen.  The Business Exchange would not be possible without the support of AATC and NAA staff members Annie Williams and Jim Wilson.

Emily Watson, President Lantower Residential, 2021 Business Exchange Committee Chair.
