Roxanne Thalman prevailed over Marvin Sutton in a recount of their June 10 run-off election for Arlington city council district 3. Thalman’s victory margin was reduced from 3 votes to 2! AATC PAC strongly supported Thalman in this contest. Thalman is a former apartment leasing professional. AATC looks forward to working with council member-elect Thalman
2017 Municipal Run-off Election Results:
AATC PAC supported candidates Carlos Flores, Roxanne Thalman, & Lana Wolff all won their city council run-off elections on Saturday, June 10.
In Fort Worth, Carlos Flores (52%) beat former fire fighter Steve Thornton by 98 votes to win the open District 2 city council seat.
With more than $100,000 in support from the Fire Fighters’ PAC for the run-off election, Thornton “weaponized” AATC PAC’s $2,500 contribution to Flores in the May general election. In response, Flores stood by our industry and AATC PAC supported Flores with an additional $2,500 in the run-off. AATC PAC’s $5,000 in total contributions to Flores is the largest amount AATC PAC has ever contributed to a city council candidate.
Flores, an aerospace engineer, is the former Chair of the Fort Worth Planning & Zoning Commission. AATC looks forward to working with Councilman-elect Flores.
In Arlington, long-serving city council member and long-time AATC friend Lana Wolff (54%) easily won her run-off contest for council District 5.
In the closest Tarrant County municipal election contest in years, Roxanne Thalman defeated Marvin Sutton by 3 votes to win the open Arlington District 3 council position. Thalman is a former apartment leasing professional and military veteran. AATC anticipates that Sutton will seek a re-count given the extremely narrow vote margin.

Their insights into the candidates’ alignment with AATC’s issues and concerns, as well as, their willingness to establish relationships with Flores, Thalman, and Wolff will benefit AATC for many years.
