Evictions

Eviction is a last resort legal proceeding filed by a property owner or manager to regain possession of their property. Eviction suits occur when a resident violates their lease agreement, including the violation of property rules. On many occasions, eviction suits are instigated because a resident’s rent obligation is not paid on time. Regardless of the reason for the suit, the best way for an apartment resident to avoid any eviction proceeding is to abide by the terms and conditions of the rental contract.

In Texas, eviction suits are filed in the Justice of the Peace court in which the property resides. In Tarrant County, you can find out what court will hear your case by checking on the County’s Internet site at www.tarrantcounty.com.
